Director - Global Vision

Amy graduated from the University of Guelph, with an Honours Bachelor in political science. She then worked as a political attaché for the Secretary of State of Canada and Minister for Multiculturalism and Citizenship. Amy now directs Global Vision and has led several Junior Team Canada missions to Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
Driven with her own keen desire to make a difference in developing countries, Amy also has helped to establish global youth training programs around the globe. Using the Junior Team Canada model, she has developed youth programs in China, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines. Amy looks forward to working together with China to further create more opportunities for youth to get engaged and empowered as leaders in today’s global economy.

Project Coordinator – Global Vision

Before joining Global Vision, Adam worked as the lead Recruitment & Admissions Officer in Atlantic Canada for Bishop's University. He graduated from Bishop's in 2013 with a Bachelors in Politics and Economics. While at school, he was heavily involved as a volunteer in Orientation Week, clubs, and student government, serving as President in his final year. Adam is a firm believer in “learning by doing” and hopes to help other youth leaders gain meaningful experiences through Global Vision’s programs.
Adam is a veteran of the Junior Team Canada program, having represented his country on three trade & development Missions: to Peru in 2008, China & Malaysia in 2010, and China in 2014. He has also served as a delegate for Canada's 2010 G8 & G20 Summits, and as a team leader for JTC's delegation to APEC 2014 in Beijing. Now working as a Project Coordinator, he helps to organize domestic and international programs.
Adam is a firm believer in “learning by doing” and hopes to help other youth leaders gain meaningful experiences through Global Vision’s programs.

Scott is currently studying Management specializing in Leadership and Sustainability at Dalhousie University. Scott works heavily within the Dalhousie Student Union where he serves his fellow students in several roles and is working on multiple projects focused on Food Insecurity. He has been heavily involved in Global Vision programs over the past two years, working as the Youth Engagement Coordinator, participating in regional Round Tables, the Arctic Youth Ambassador Summit in Iqaluit and JTC Trade Missions to Peru and China. Scott is looking forward to representing Canadian education institutions in China to help further their brand awareness in this rapidly growing market.

Andrew is a grade 10 student who is attending Upper Canada College. He has a passion for science, math, and every sport he has had an opportunity to play. He is a caring older brother who loves to spend time and help out his friends. Andrew is taking time off from his job as a counsellor at Camp Hurontario to travel across the world to China to partake in this fantastic opportunity.

Catherine is a Albertan francophone living in Québec City where she will be completing her International tourism studies this year. As a Global Vision ambassador and a Global Vision Grad, Catherine will be going on her second trade mission with Global Vision this summer. She plans on going to Germany for her graduate internship and complet a bachelors in sustainable tourism and international tourism management at the Griffith University in Australia. Catherine looks forward to promoting Canada as a first class touristiqu destination in China.

Daniel is currently a Business Technology Analyst for Deloitte and a software engineering student at UNB. Daniel is also a JTC grad from 2012. He is a leader and problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit. Daniel is a promoter of community development, economic growth and youth leadership. Daniel co-founded GV Fred, a local group that engages youth and community leaders.He is also a student senator at UNB and a student representative at the student pub.

Drew is a Senior at Vaughan Road Academy, hoping to pursue a Bachelors in Business Administration. He has been involved in a variety of technology start-ups, selling the web-app LadderUP! In 2015, and currently acting as CEO of Sitto. He is an International Business competitor, winning 7th at DECA ICDC in 2015. Moreover, he is the President of his Student Council and an intern at a Gold corporation. Drew is enthused to be representing the financial and mining sector of Canada, and hopes to make a meaningful impact on his community and country.

Elizabeth has a bachelor in International Studies and Modern Languages from Université Laval in Québec City. Early on she had the opportunity to live in different cities and to learn about Canada’s involvement abroad. This is what triggered her interest for international relations and more particularly social entrepreneurship. Elizabeth is excited to represent the renewable energy and natural resources sector on the mission and to open doors for further business partnerships between the two countries.

Emma Cox has just graduated from Glendale High School in Tillsonburg Ontario, and will be heading to the University of Ottawa for Environmental Economics and Public Policy in the fall. Emma is super excited to represent Tillsonburg and Canada overseas. She has been actively involved in her school and community, and cannot wait for the opportunity to make international connections.

Eva is a grade 11 student at Eden High School. Because of the language and cultural barriers she has experienced as an immigrant, Eva co-founded Voyage, a student-led social enterprise that helps other youth newcomers integrate to Canadian communities. When she is not busy with Voyage chapters across Ontario and now in Quebec and Winnipeg, she continues to promote student voice on a national level with the Federation of Canadian Secondary Students, as the Chief Operating Officer. Through Junior Team Canada, Eva is excited to make a real impact in the Niagara Region and to give back to her community.

Faisal is currently in his last year at Upper Canada College private school. He is a tri-varsity athlete and is a member of the Debate team as well as the newly founded Black History Club. He loves international affairs, politics and business. Faisal is also a representative of the boarding program at UCC. Faisal is excited to take the next step, not just representing his school but now representing the Canadian education sector overseas and being an ambassador of Canada's rich culture.

Gillian is from Saint John, New Brunswick and is going into her third year of business University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. She is pursuing an honours in accounting as well as concentrations in international business as well as marketing, where she is also very involved in with the business society at UNB as the VP External and a peer mentor. She is currently working as a technical writer for IBM in Fredericton, as part of an 8 month co-op term with the university. Gillian is very excited to embark on this new journey with Global Vision to China, and she can't wait to represent Canada on the global stage. She will be representing the education and aquaculture sectors to bring investment attraction to Atlantic Canada.

Currently completing her CEGEP in Quebec, Inès is studying in the Health Profile. She is a peer tutor at her school and is involved in volunteer work.Having traveled with her family and lived in 3 different provinces in Canada, as well as in the United States, she has developed a passion for internal and international relations. In China, Inès will be an ambassador representing the sectors of agriculture/food industry and tourism.

Jayson is currently studying Health Science at the College de Maisonneuve in Montreal. He is an active member in his school association and many programs around the country promoting science, innovation and leadership. Jayson is the founder of BOOM Scientifique, a science organization, to promote STEM and leadership. He strongly believes in the success of ‘’Boots to the ground’’ experiences and hopes to support and help student all across Canada to get the opportunity to live meaningful and life experiences through Global Vision’s programs and missions. In the last few years Jayson had the opportunity to represent his province in many events, conferences and competitions. This summer, in his mission to China Jayson would like to represent the innovation, education, research and health sectors.

Jennifer is a grade 11 student at Markville Secondary School in Markham. She has a passion for visual arts, graphic design, business, and entrepreneurship and wishes to pursue a degree in finance and engineering in the future. As an executive member of Markham Youth Council and Creativity Through Arts, both non-profit youth organizations, Jennifer is an active member in her community. She is extremely excited for the upcoming JTC Mission to China where she can gain hands-on experience in establishing international relations, as well as making friendships that will last a lifetime.

Julia is an international student from Germany who is currently spending a gap year in Canada where she gains international experience. Her work with Global Vision enabled her to go on a mission to Iqaluit, Nunavut in 2015 to experience the Inuit culture first hand and on the Junior Team Canada Trade Mission to Peru in February where she learned more about the international trade relations of these two countries.
Julia is looking forward to experiencing the Chinese lifestyle and gaining more knowledge on its diverse culture while being on the Trade Mission this summer. Julia is eager to experience the Chinese education system and also hopes to share her European cultural background with her Canadian and Chinese friends. After the mission, Julia will be attending the French university Sciences Po and pursue a trilingual Political Science program with a focus on international relations.

Justice is a fifth year political science student attending the First Nations University of Canada. As a youth ambassador he is hoping to represent the sectors of Aborignal Busiess and promote said businesses while in China. He also wants to represent people with disabilities and prove that they deserve to have a voice on the global stage. He plans on being a wise and capable youth leader for the others to look up to.

Kaitlyn is a 2016 graduate from Sacred Heart High School in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. In the fall, she will be attending the University of Saskatchewan enrolled in the College of Agriculture. Kaitlyn is actively involved within your school and community and takes on many leadership roles. Kaitlyn grew up on her family grain and cattle farm. This has led her to develop a passion for agriculture and food security. Kaitlyn has represented Canada at the World Food Prize in Iowa and travelled to many other countries working towards food security.  Kaitlyn looks forward to representing the Canadian agriculture industry.

Karan is currently completing his final year of high school at The Woodlands Secondary School in Mississauga. He is passionate about leadership and has a strong interest in entrepreneurship and business activities. He is an executive in Toronto start-up, Sitto and in many school clubs as well. In China, Karan will focus on representing small, emerging businesses, large corporations and the technology sector. With this opportunity, Karan not only hopes to build meaningful partnerships but also expand his global perspective and provide opportunities to businesses in his region.

Katie graduated from Bishop’s University with a Bachelor of Business Administration; concentrating in both General Management and Human Resources. During her time at Bishop’s she was extremely involved; most notably as Vice-President of Academic Affairs of the Students’ Representative Council.
After graduating she was hired as a Recruitment and Admissions Officer where she travelled across Canada motivating youth and representing her institution. This summer she will be working with the Global Vision Youth Outreach & Engagement Team. In September, Katie will be beginning her Masters in Communications at the University of Ottawa. In China, Katie will represent the education sector.
