Why Global Vision?

To empower enterprising youth—those passionately driven to challenge the status quo with new ideas, skills, approaches, and solutions to be a competitive advantage for the promotion of Canada within the global marketplace. In turn, these youth, as committed brand ambassadors, give back to perpetuate this advantage and cultivate a generation of innovative leaders for our future.

Global VisionWhat is it?

Global Vision is a global network of Ambassadors committed to this shared vision. Youth are empowered through a variety of domestic and international programs delivered annually. While each program entails a unique experience, they all support Global Vision’s core mission (Why Global Vision) and values: in everything we say and do, we will touch the hearts and minds of Canadians in communities across the land.

How does Global Vision work?

Global Vision Ambassadors leverage fundamental skills from the 5 Step Game Changer while they learn by doing with intense real-world experiences. Throughout, they are led and mentored by a volunteer cadre of business, education, government, and community leaders that is enhanced by an international network of GV grads who inspire and mentor, perpetuating the next generation of global leaders.

The Path to Leadership: A Statement of Mission, Vision, and Values.

We will champion the enterprising spirit of young Canadians in promoting Canadian industry and culture as we receive recognition as a principal force in the global marketplace. Inspired by this irrepressible drive to become world-class, we will provide access to national and global networks for young Canadians to acquire the international development, trade, and cross-cultural experience to become the next leaders of Canada. Grounded in the enduring principles of integrity, compassion, and mutual respect in everything we say or do, we will touch the hearts and minds of Canadians in communities across the land.

Our Story

Founded in 1991 by educator, former Member of Parliament, and Member of the Order of Canada, Terry Clifford C.M., Global Vision became the vehicle for a national leadership program for the first globalized generation, giving young professionals a place in the global economy.

To date, the various programs have trained well over 40,000 young Canadians. The Junior Team Canada trade mission program (JTC) has traveled to 6 continents and more than 30 countries. Five other foreign countries have modelled the Junior Team Canada program to create opportunity for their youth leaders.

Today, graduates of the Global Vision program can be found in leadership positions in business, government, and civil society organizations in countries around the globe. Over the past 30 years, Global Vision has built a legacy as a leader and innovator, strengthening Canada's competitive advantage. During this time, Global Vision has been recognized repeatedly by government, education, and business for its work. Most recently, Global Vision was recognized by the Globe & Mail as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurship Programs for Young Canadians.
