Terrence Clifford C.M.
Founder and President

A graduate of the Universities of Guelph, Toronto and Cornell, Terry was an educator and school principal by career. Throughout more than 25 years in education, Mr. Clifford has taught elementary, secondary and university levels. He innovated several programs, authored a mathematics text series and has accepted Provincial awards for outstanding community leadership both as a teacher and Principal.

Following his career in education, Mr. Clifford served near ten years in public service as a Member of Parliament. He represented the Ontario riding of London—Middlesex, where he was elected first in the 1984 federal election than was re-elected in 1988, serving in the 33rd and 34th Canadian Parliaments. Mr. Clifford served and chaired Caucus and Standing Committees focusing on energy, the environment, employment, free trade, transport, and European Parliamentary relations. Mr. Clifford was recognized in the House of Commons for successfully forging powerful cross partnerships and his global initiatives in science, technology, business and education.

While still in office in 1991, Mr. Clifford founded the national non-profit organization, Global Vision. Global Vision engages youth through hands-on experiences in international trade and community leadership to produce top global leaders that build the future of Canada. Global Vision promotes Canadian culture and industry worldwide through international trade missions and special assignment, including APEC, G8, and G20 Summits.

To date, Global Vision has supported the work of five Canada Prime Ministers, trained over 40,000 youth, and has represented Canada’s interests in 30 countries on six continents. Mr. Clifford became a Member of the Order of Canada in 2004, in recognition for his efforts with Global Vision.

Amy Giroux
Director

Amy began her career as a Political Attaché for the Secretary of State of Canada and Minister for Multiculturalism and Citizenship. She graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honors Bachelors in Political Science.

Amy now works as the Director of Global Vision, managing the organization and coordinating domestic and international programs. She has led several Junior Team Canada Missions to Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Driven with her own keen desire to make a difference in developing countries, Amy has used the Junior Team Canada model to establish global youth training programs in several countries including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines.

Adam Peabody
Special Advisor

Before joining Global Vision as a Special Advisor, Adam worked as the lead Recruitment and Admissions Officer in Atlantic Canada for Bishop’s University. He graduated from Bishop’s in 2013 with a Bachelor’s in Politics and Economics. While at school, he was heavily involved as a volunteer in Orientation Week, clubs, and student government, serving as President in his final year. Adam is a firm believer in “learning by doing” and hopes to help other youth leaders gain meaningful experiences through Global Vision’s programs.

Adam is a veteran of the Junior Team Canada program, having represented his country on three trade & development Missions: Peru in 2008, China and Malaysia in 2010, and China in 2014. He has also served as a delegate for Canada’s 2010 G8 and G20 Summits and a team leader for JTC’s delegation to APEC 2014 in Beijing.

Most recently, Adam was the Director of Planet Hatch, New Brunswick’s flagship startup acceleration center. Working with partners and stakeholders, Adam developed a new five-year strategy that emphasized customer validation, sales, and global competitiveness. In the following years, the center supported entrepreneurs in launching over 80 new startups, with an 80%+ success rate, across 18 sectors. Alumni have created over 300 jobs, and over 50% have successfully penetrated global markets within two years.
