Ambassadors with the Junior Team Canada (JTC)Program represent Canada on the national and international stage through four main avenues: Junior Team Canada (JTC) Trade Missions, National Youth Ambassador Caucuses, APEC Summits, and Special Assignment Summits like MY SUMMIT 2010 G8-G20 – The Official Youth Summit of the Muskoka/Toronto G8 and G20.
JTC missions to date , have visited over 30 Countries, on 6 Continents. They are designed to create a next generation of Canadian Leaders prepared to work in the global marketplace at home or abroad. As the world continues to integrate both developed and emerging markets become more competitive . It is imperative that Canadian business have access to workers willing and able to learn and do business on a global scale.
As part of the learning process each Ambassador must secure a series of mandates from their home region. These will come from Business, Government, and Community organizations – which as part of giving you a mandate will make a financial contribution to your Trade Mission. The fundraising component allows you to build connections in your own community which will better allow you to promote your community and industry to the world.
JTC Ambassadors are present and participate at major geopolitical meetings. JTC has teams at the Voices program at APEC, the My Summits 2010 – G8 G20 program at the G8 and G20 Summits. These teams represent Canada and participate with fellow youth, government officials and meet a variety of world leaders to further Canada’s international position.
In order to become a member of JTC you must first attend a Global Leaders Centre – There are centres all across the country, and there will be one near you! The 2012 tour will begin soon. For dates and places please check the home page.
