Parks Canada Youth Ambassador Program

For the second year, Global Vision is collaborating with Parks Canada to find the two highly motivated young Canadians (18-25 years old) to serve as the second Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Parks Canada Youth Ambassadors. The youth ambassadors will engage other youth and get them excited about participating in, learning about, and experiencing Parks Canada’s iconic national treasures.

What will the youth ambassadors do?
As a Parks Canada Youth Ambassador they will travel to some of Canada’s most spectacular places. The Ambassadors will develop and organize special and ongoing events which appeal to their peers. This will include marketing and hosting duties for the event(s). Using their own, as well as Parks Canada’s, social media and web platforms they will Blog, Tweet, Share, Post, etc. their hands-on adventures/discoveries with friends, followers and media. Their goal is to engage in conversations surrounding the adventures via, pictures, videos, comments, etc. which they have shared.

They will generate and deliver cutting-edge, interactive presentations to fellow students. These will take place at community organizations, schools, social clubs, and other places their target audience was found. The Ambassadors will identify and build relationships with potential organizations which will serve to expand the reach and visibility of the Program. While working to identify sectors and the organizations which have a strong partnership with other youth.

Where will they work?
The two  youth ambassadors will be based in the National Capital Region. Each of the youth ambassadors will have the opportunity to participate in a range of Parks Canada experiences in, national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas. These experiences will be determined based on potential to engage new audiences, location of the target youth demographic, and other programming needs.
