The National Youth Ambassador Caucus (NYAC) is an annual young leaders caucus held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. The top young leaders from the Global Leaders Centre who have demonstrated commitment and leadership in their community – and innovation in their branding will be selected to comprise a top 100.
The top 100 will comprise participants from every province and territory. They will then work in inter-regional teams to brand Canada and promote youth involvement and leadership. The caucus represents an opportunity for the youth to share their projects and challenges with their peers. It is also an opportunity to meet members of Parliament to tell them about the work they have been doing. Networking, a street chase, branding presentations, and of course team challenges – after all those who finish on top will be in the running for an opportunity to represent Canada on the World Stage. New this year, participants will also be competing to represent their region on a Trade Mission within Canada.
Ministers and Prime Ministers representing 5 different governments have gotten involved with Global Vision and its youth. In 2010 in the lead up to the G8 and G20 Summits, Prime Minister Stephen Harper took time to meet with the youth and answer questions in a forum moderated by Senator Duffy.
